O.K. I promise this will be the last posting on Al-Betra. I was awe-struck at its vastness and especially the natural colours of the rocks - from pale yellows to whites to reds to dark browns. Some of the rock surfaces are strata-coloured with wavy lines like that of a marble cake. The area opened to tourists was wide and spacious. There was a lot to see as one walked further up. However, I didn't get to see all those because I didn't have a friend to accompany me to explore further. The day was hot and my friends were tired. It seemed some parts of Petra were scenes shot in the movie series "Indiana Jones". Well I'm not surprised. Do go and visit Petra if you have the chance, folks. It's worth the trip, really.
The carved rose-coloured surface

Some carved for dwellings, looks cool within

Strange natural carvings . . .

Some enterprising person has turned the little cave into a cool, comfy tea-house

One can go on and on walking and yet there were still more to see.
