That's my long-time friend, Yong Moi Moi, enjoying the ketupat-rendang-lontong-sambal udang during the last Hari Raya. Moi Moi had been my friend for a long time. We met when she was in Form Six at High School Malacca where I was teaching. Though I didn't get to be her teacher, she was actively involved in the Art Club where she was the President and I, the Teacher-in-Charge. A year later when I got transfered to a Teacher's College in Kuala Lumpur, we met again, Moi Moi being a student there and I, this time, was her Art lecturer. Our relationship since then became more of friend-friend rather than teacher-student. Somehow we have many interests in common. I really enjoy being in her company for she has a lot of things to share with me. Almost every Hari Raya, Moi Moi would come a-visiting, sometimes bringing her nieces, nephews, brothers to celebrate Raya with us. So on this occasion, Moi Moi, I wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year, may you always be in good health and good fortune. GONG XI FA CAI also to all my Chinese friends - Beng Kim, Joyce, Li Leen, Lan Neo, Swee Neo, Geok Neo, Kim Tee, Ruby Lee wherever you are. I miss you all.

Saw this deco (plus the one above) at the entrance to the Dataran Pahlawan Mall. Notice the flowers? So clever . . turning the paper umbrellas into pussy-willow flowers! Clever . . ma!
