The daughters, sons, the in-laws and grandkids had left after spending some time celebrating 'hari raya' with the grannies. Now it's time for the grannies to go on their rounds of 'Open House' as is the practice every year. We have been invited to about 14 houses starting from today. I've drawn up a schedule right up till next week. Only 2 houses an afternoon is suffice I should think, considering the distance travelling from house to house and the 'tea spread' for the guests. Today we visited 3 houses upon request. At each house we started with presenting some 'nasyid' (religious songs) and hari raya songs accompanied by kompang, and other percussion instruments. I noticed ALL the ladies enjoyed themselves tremendously as they sang their hearts out! Good for them! The palm of my hands were sore towards the end after hitting the kompang. But it was fun. Before leaving each house, it was makan time. So you can just imagine, at the third house, I could barely eat anything. Well . . . 11 more houses to go.

Dear Hajjah,
Thanks for visiting. The 'great grannies' got 4 more houses to 'marhaban'. Imagine the varieties of food served at each house. No duplicate, you!
