LOCAL FRUIT JUICE COMPETITION

An open letter to my sis in Kuantan, who is missing all the fun with her friends in Melaka.

Dear Alang,

I just returned from the Local Fruit Juice Competition organised by W.I and FAMA. You know the one at TESCO. There were not many participants from the zones. Bukit Baru did not send any representative, sad to say. At the last minute Che Leha had some urgent matter to attend to, so that's it. I wished they had informed me earlier cause I'd like very much to take part. You know how crazy I am with fruit juices. I could send in the 'Jambu Batu + Lime + Asam Boi' juice with lots of ice. That would be very nice indeed, don't you think, especially in this hot weather. Ah well, maybe another time!
Everybody in blue you know were there. Siti Har got third place with her simple 'jambu air' juice. She deserved to win being a kind soul she is. Her entry today was good too. Roha got second place with her special mango juice complete set with pulut (glutinous rice) and mango. First place went to participant from WI Paya Rumput with her 'buah kendondong' juice. Her presentation was attractive. At first she put a slice of kiwi fruit at the edge of her glass for decoration but we quickly told her to put it away because it was not the theme of the competition and also what has kiwi got to do with kedondong? At the end of the prize-giving, we were served with a mini 'High Tea' - roast chicken, nasi himpit with kuah satay and fried pasta served with cool 'mata kucing' drink. Also a taste of durian with courtesy of the organiser, FAMA. Before leaving each of us were given a goody bag.
Wish you were here too. Anyway, enjoy the following collages, Alang. Bye and take care.

Angah.
Some of the fruits they used - mango, Chines melon, 'jambu air', dragon fruit, kedondong and rambutan.

The participants busy preparing their fruit juices. They were given 30 minutes to make their presentation.

Voila! Some of the mouth-watering juices. Wish some of them could be more adventerous

and daring though.

Dear Nek Ngah,
TQVM Nek Ngah for the info letter. I enjoyed reading it. Yeh, I miss the fun in Melaka (and of course the 'shuffler' back home). But I'm enjoying my semester break here too. WI Bkt Baru didn't know your other hidden talent. What about having the same compt during the WI Bkt Baru 'wakaton'? Then you can participate.Bye2.

Dear Nek Lang,

I'll forward your suggestion to the AJK but I think they would question about the 'leche-ness'. Hee3. Anyway, I'll be v busy on that day - my Taichi Day, remember?
